My name is Meagan Strome, I'm an educator; I teach grade 11 and 12 math courses, as well as business education courses. I've been teaching both in person and online. I believe having students engaged in learning is vital to their success. That means providing students with opportunities to pursue their passions and interests. Canva is a great tool for enabling students to do just that!

I'm impressed by this company for many reasons. First, it’s inspiring to see a tech company founded and led by a woman. Second, I appreciate and believe in their vision of creating a free and easy-to-use graphic design tool. The company is also dedicated to giving back and doing the right thing, which is demonstrated by offering Canva Pro for free to all K-12 students and teachers to support creative collaboration in schools.

As a teacher, I can vouch that educators are busy! Any technology that can save time and easily be learned and implemented into the classroom is a win. I remember trying to learn photoshop years ago and found that the design tools were clunky and difficult to use. Simple software that is online and collaborative is a must in any educational setting. The pandemic has increased the need for ready-to-use remote teaching options. If I were a decision-maker or an administrator I would certainly take advantage of the free design software which can be utilized across an entire school district.

Although the company is private, should Canva executives decide to become a publicly-traded company, I would suggest the software giant's IPO would be a solid investment. While the firm has seen tremendous growth in recent years, its multiple revenue sources and acquisition-based business model make it primed for continued growth.
