Strengths
- The product itself solved a problem many people care about becoming a business opportunity — the market needed a much simpler design tool
- Its primary differentiator is that it began as a web application. Historically, design tools were downloaded as desktop applications

- Anyone can be a designer - You don’t need to be a skilled designer to start or know anything about design
- Simple to use and user friendly - From the layout of the platform to guided templates, basically a drag and drop design platform
- It is budget-friendly -You can use the limited free option, or the Pro option at $12,99 dollars per month (price according to date 21 September 2020)
- Can choose from a variety of templates - correct sizing for other online platforms; YouTube thumbnails, Instagram stories etc.

Weaknesses
- Limited features in the free version - have to upgrade to pro for additional templates, photos, and features
- Cannot download the file to your computer for later use
- Export settings are limited - cannot export to files like PowerPoint
- Intellectual property belongs to Canva
- Alignment concerns - with software like Photoshop alignment can be carefully controlled, Canva is not as controllable in terms of design elements
- The mobile app has less than half the features of the desktop version
- Overuse of designs
