Stage 3 Library Term 2 Overview
In Term 2, students will undertake a diverse author study, reading the text 'Thai-riffic' by Oliver Phommavanh. They will discuss literary concepts like character, plot, point of view and word choice and identify biographical clues about the author found in the text.
Stage 2 Library Term 2 Overview
In term 2, students will read texts written and illustrated by diverse authors. Reading diverse literature will allow students to discover new places, new cultures, new perspective and new characters providing them with a better understanding of both their own culture and the cultures of others. They will learn that literature is created by drawing upon personal, social and cultural perspectives and learn to identify connections between their own experiences and those in stories.
Stage 1 Library Term 2 Overview
In term 2, students will read texts written and illustrated by diverse authors. Reading diverse literature will allow students to discover new places, new cultures, new perspective and new characters providing them with a better understanding of both their own culture and the cultures of others. They will learn to identify cultural representations in a range of stories and express their personal responses to real and imagined worlds depicted in texts.

ES1 Library Term1 Overview
In term 2, students will complete the InitaLit Storybook program, an evidence-based literacy program. The program works on oral language comprehension to support early stages of learning to read and focusses on building new vocabulary and world knowledge to foster later reading comprehension.

Stage 3 Library Term 1 Overview , 2023
Students in Stage 3 will begin term 1 with familiarising themselves with the library space and borrowing procedures. They will then review cyber safety by recognising the importance of protecting their private information online, the value of taking responsibility for themselves and their actions, and the necessity of treating others with an appropriate standard of behaviour online.
Students are strongly encouraged to bring a library bag for borrowing books, reading them, and returning.

ES1 Library Term1 Overview, 2023
Students in kindergarten will be introduced to library expectations and procedures for borrowing. They will then learn the importance of online safety and begin the Premier’s Reading Challenge by enjoying books with the theme of friendship.
Students are strongly encouraged to bring a library bag for borrowing books, reading them, and returning.

Term 2, 2022 Aboriginal Author and Illustrator Study
In Term 2, students undertook an Indigenous Focus unit, studying texts by Aboriginal authors and illustrators.
Term 3 Aboriginal Author and Illustrator Study & CBCA Shortlisted texts
In Term 3, students studied books written and illustrated by award-winning author and Darug woman Jasmine Seymour. They also studied the CBCA Shortlisted books for 2022.
Students celebrated Book Week by participating in a Book Character parade, entering Book Week competitions and taking part in fun and engaging activities.
Stage 3 students took part in a book tasting and Stage 1 & 2 students had fun searching for Where's Wally in a scavenger hunt.
