Message from the Director

Greetings Marching Band students and families,

Marching Band is already here and I wanted to send out a few quick reminders.

1) Marching Band needs A LOT of support from the students' families. A. LOT. Whether it's helping to move equipment at our events, or any of the many, many behind the scenes tasks-- WE NEED YOU. Many parents tell me at the end of the year that all I need to do is ask... Well, I am officially asking. Please, please, please reach out to our IMA Boosters at meadehigh.ima.md@gmail.com . One of the volunteers will be in touch shortly.

2) Our calendar and handbook for the season are attached. Notice that there is a parent agreement form on the last page of the handbook that will need to be signed and returned. The calendar is posted on the IMA website (goto home and click the calendar link above)

3) Marching band competitions start on October 17th with the Exhibition. In order to prepare we are holding practices every Tues and Thurs from 2:30 until 5pm, and every Saturday from noon to 2pm. These are mandatory. Please let the band director know if you cannot attend

4) Any questions and concerns can be sent to me via email at arscott@aacps.org. Also, if any parents/family members want to register for our remind section for the marching band- they may download the app and follow the code found in the handbook. This app functions much like text messaging, but does not require you to give out your personal phone number. We will be using this app this year for announcements and reminders.

Thank you for taking the time to mark your calendars and review the handbook before the season gets started. I look forward to seeing our new members and current members on the field.
