Around the globe, many workers die from accidents while painting vertical surfaces such as large building walls and glasses. The purpose of this project is to build a machine, with automatic control, which can be used to paint any plain vertical surface. The vertical upward and downward motion of the lower portion, and the paint-roller, have been done with the help of a sprocket-chain and shaft mechanism, which is powered by a dc gear motor through a spur gear. The horizontal movement is driven by four motors on the upper part of the machine. The timing of vertical motion is synchronized with the paint-roller motion as well as the horizontal motion such as to ensure uniform coating.

The condenser at the turbine outlet of a vapor power cycle in a 1 MW power plant is to be designed to condense the spent steam of the turbine into water that is to be fed as feed water into the boiler. The saturated steam, which is at a very low pressure, is cooled using readily available water at room temperature. A Shell and Tube heat exchanger (TEMA BXS) has been designed to meet the process parameters while maximizing performance and minimizing cost. The design consists of 2 tube passes and cross flow between the two fluids, while the rear end consists of a floating head.
