Description:
In today’s fast-paced world, the need for accurate product sorting and efficient space management at industries is critical, especially when sorting must adhere to specific patterns. To address this need, a low-cost prototype of an autonomous mobile robot was developed for sorting carrom discs on a carrom board—a task requiring both precision and complex pattern-following. This robot features a four degree of freedom (4 DOF) robotic arm equipped with a vacuum suction mechanism for handling the discs. The precise coordinates for lifting and placing the discs are detected and the angular position of the arm’s different parts are determined using inverse kinematics, to ensure accurate placement. Controlled by a program written in Arduino IDE, the robot operates fully autonomously, requiring only minimal human intervention to switch it on and off. Once switched on, it performs all sorting tasks with great accuracy and precision.
