Research Interest

The vision of my research is “Data-Driven Disaster Analytics for Societal Resilience.” My work encompasses natural hazard, risk, and disaster resilience analysis, early warning systems, and environmental and climatological big data analysis. I specialize in integrating computational methodologies, including hydrodynamic modeling, operational flood modeling from institutions like the Japan Meteorological Agency, and advanced data science techniques such as machine learning and statistical analysis, to improve atmospheric hazard prediction and decision-making.

I employ a holistic approach across the disaster cycle, combining physics-based engineering models, computational analysis, and social science insights, including community engagement and policy analysis. My interdisciplinary efforts aim to enhance societal resilience to natural hazards by developing scalable decision-support tools rooted in big data and social indicators. These tools are designed to address the impacts of anthropogenic climate change and the increasing frequency of disasters affecting vulnerable populations, contributing to a safer and more sustainable world.
