Research Interest

The vision of my research is “Data-Driven Disaster Analytics for Societal Resilience”. My work covers the broad field of hazard, risk, and disaster resilience analysis, early warning systems, environmental and climatological big data analysis, and trend studies. Furthermore, I am committed to considering the scientific and social context of my work, including anthropogenic climate change and the rising frequency of disasters impacting vulnerable populations. I aim to employ a holistic approach across the entire disaster cycle, integrating data-driven approaches (e.g., data science methodologies, machine learning models), engineering models (e.g., physics based), and social sciences (e.g., surveys, community engagement, policy analysis). Furthermore, I am interested in developing flexible and scalable decision-support tools rooted in data analytics and social indicators. These interdisciplinary efforts aim to achieve a comprehensive understanding of the potential impacts of natural hazards on society, promote resilience to enhance disaster mitigation and response, and contribute to making the world a safer and more sustainable place.

If you have an interest in any of the fields mentioned above and are open to collaboration, I would be delighted to work together.
