Thesis Keywords: CMPA, Quarter Wave Transformer, Antenna Gain, Return Loss, VSWR, CST and RoggersRT5880.
Research objectives: The common shapes of the slots are rectangular, circular, ring, T-shape, U-shape, and E-shape. The objective of this work is the performance analysis of those slots for the 5GHz application.
Research methodology: Designing a circular microstrip patch antenna is easier than other patch configurations, as we need only one design parameter, i.e., the radius of the patch, but here, we needed two additional design parameters because we have used a quarter-wave fed transformer technique.
Research findings: By analyzing the performance of the designed microstrip patch antenna for all the different shapes of slots, better performance has been observed for the circular slot of the circular patch antenna at 5 GHz operating frequency, as return loss and VSWR were better for the slot.
Future research prospects: Antennas are used widely in RF/Microwave communications, satellite and radar communications. We are interested in researching antennas regarding these communications to improve antenna parameters in industry trends.
