Purchasing a Canva Pro account from third-party sellers on platforms like Facebook, Etsy, Fiverr, or Telegram is a scam and a violation of Canva Terms of Use
How the Scam Works
Non-Existent Lifetime Plans: Canva never sells lifetime subscriptions; all legitimate plans are billed monthly or yearly. [1, 2]
Abused Education or Team Accounts: Scammers frequently exploit free Canva for Education accounts or hacked organizational/classroom team spaces, adding buyers as members and then reselling access.
Sudden Revocation: When Canva detects and purges unauthorized team accounts or education abuse during system audits, the team is deleted, and buyers immediately lose access. [1, 2]
The Risks Involved
Loss of Designs: When the scammer's main account or fraudulent team is banned or wiped by Canva, all designs and uploads stored inside that workspace can vanish. [1, 2, 3]
Security & Privacy Exposure: Sharing login info or joining unverified teams can expose your personal email, credentials, or workspace data. [1, 2]
No Official Support or Refunds: Canva does not offer refunds or customer support for subscriptions bought through unauthorized external channels. [1]
What to Do If You Bought a Fake Plan
Create a Legitimate Account: Sign up for a real account directly at Canva.com. [1, 2]
Backup Your Assets: Download any media or files you created or uploaded. [1, 2]
Migrate Your Designs: Share your existing designs from the old/compromised account using a template link, then open that link in your new legitimate account to make a fresh copy. [1, 2]
Report the Seller: You can report fraudulent activity or unauthorized resellers via the Canva Help Assistant. [1]
