Reading Clinicians
As specialists in language and literacy learning we:
consistently implement most the most recent evidence-based practices to improve student learning
provide a better understanding of a student's learning profile
engage in interdisciplinary collaboration with school teams of professionals, such as psychologists, and speech and language pathologists
work in both private and public school systems across Manitoba
many operate private practices which offer direct support to students and families in need of additional support to address literacy concerns
Reading Clinicians support students' learning needs through:
identifying learning differences and disabilities
assessing learning aptitudes and cognitive processing
provide recommendations of accommodations to address learning needs in areas such as oral language associated with literacy, phonemic and phonological awareness, decoding and spelling, vocabulary, fluency, listening and reading comprehension, as well as writing skills
