Founded in December 2020 by Emma Drucker and Jake Rubenstein, two high school students that have a mission of bringing together teens from different schools in the area to work towards a common goal of helping underprivileged communities on a state level. Our main focuses are working to contribute to other organizations that are already making progress against unjust situations for those in need. They also plan to work independently to provide resources to communities and neighborhoods that are lacking educational supplies and resources. After about a year of having MCOG running, they have learned so much about the community they are apart of and all of the ways that those who are able to can give back. Showing those around them how they can make a difference is their biggest motivator. They both believe that everyone wants to help, but many often don't know where to start, especially youth. The two have made it their goal to give others opportunities to support those in need in their local communities and make a positive local impact every day.
We have created a team of over 70 hard-working individuals who are looking to expand their resume and give their valuable time and resources to our community here in the Portland-Metro Area. We will not be accepting new members while we are in the middle of our first project, but we will open up the group after. We are looking to expand services on a state, and in the future, international level.
Both of our Co-Presidents are in their junior year of high school. Since they've founded MCOG, they've been constantly bringing new opportunities to members and ensuring MCOG is able to run smoothly. If you have any questions or project ideas feel free to contact them!
