Volunteers

All coaches and helpers are volunteers for our club.

We are always keen for as many people (parents, carers, Duke of Edinburgh, sports leaders...) as possible to get involved. Full training and support is offered to anyone who would like to help.

We particularly need support at fixtures throughout the season.

We appreciate not everyone can commit to training every week but people can contribute as little or as much as they can.

For those who can help but would prefer not to coach, there are many opportunities to help that are vital to keep the club going- please speak to the team coaches

PVG

All adults volunteering to help with coaching and first aid must be PVG checked.

If volunteers are already part of the scheme they must still have an update completed.

PVG checks are a simple process. Just contact Drew Leslie

TRAINING FOR COACHES

RugbyRight is a minimum standard course for all coaches and match officials and can be found in a new e-learning group within the online training hub (Hive Learning).

There is also a standalone Child Protection foundation level course (accredited by NSPCC) for those who are new to the game this season.

Further 2 day training courses are delivered by the SRU throughout the year. Courses can be paid for by McLaren RFC - for more information, please speak to the Head Coach.
