The McKnight Women's Club organizes community activities, sponsors summer recreational programs for our children, and works with the McKnight Village Civic Association in neighborhood improvements. The objective of this organization is to promote social and philanthropic work in the community.

The club is separate from, and often confused with the McKnight Village Civic Association and the McKnight United Methodist Church.  The Women's Club has its own board, meetings, and objectives. 

Please note that although we occasionally meet at a United Methodist Church, the McKnight Women's Club is not associated with any particular church.  We do however consider ourselves a non-denominational Christian womens group, and we begin each meeting with a prayer.  We are over 140 women who work together to help improve the local community and together we are a force greater than our individual parts.

The McKnight Women's Club runs on a September to August calendar, but it is never too late to join or renew your membership.

Opportunities to get involved

ALL OF OUR COMMITTEES ARE NOW WELCOMING NEW VOLUNTEERS. It's a wonderful way to connect with members of our community. To ensure that no one person feels stressed about missing a meeting, or overwhelmed by the responsibility of leading a committee, the MWC is trying to make sure every role is dual-filled to share the responsibility. 

The below positions (already filled by the experienced veteran volunteers listed) are in need of someone to help share the responsibility, or be the backup. This is a great way to get involved without worring that it will take too much time or be too hard! 

VICE PRESIDENT: Sue Richey

The VP makes sure the meetings run smoothly. They make sure the club has necessary supplies on hand.

RECORDING SECRETARY: Peg Gardner

The Recording Secretary takes notes at the Board Meetings and General Meetings and types them up after the meeting.

STREET CAPTAINS / evites: Gulzat Dalton

This is an important communication role, activities done on your own time: creating the eVite for each meeting, distributing the newsletters to the Street Captains.

BABY GIFTS: Sallee Carr

The MWC delivers a small gift to each new baby in the area. Keeping up on these babies and dropping off the gift is a good job for someone who cannot always make it to the meetings but wants to be involved.

VILLAGE LIGHT UP NIGHT: Beth Seiler

Planning and organizing this open, free, outdoor event in early December.

Our Calendar, Meetings, and Events

The McKnight Women's Club creates a monthly newsletter 8 months out of the year - in Sep, Oct, Nov, Jan, Feb, Mar, Apr, and May

The newsletters are delivered to all members both in hard copy and by email. They also can be found here on the website. On the main menu, click Newsletters.

All scheduled meetings and events are publicized in the newsletters and can also be found here on the website. On the main menu, click Calendar. It is a public google calendar found by searching for McKnightWomensClub. So if you use a google calendar on your phone, the events can all be automatically added to your calendar with a color of your choosing.  Check with Beth Seiler if you need help setting it up.
