We shared many activities to stay entertained off the Fresno State campus.
An inside look of when the best days to go to Dave & Busters.
What to do in Fresno/Clovis?
The life of a college student can be tough. You have to balance classes, work, and sometimes even a family. Those responsibilities rarely give time to relax and enjoy what Fresno and Clovis have to offer. Students spend so much of their time on campus. Here are some places off campus where you can go with friends and family and have a fun time.
Dave & Busters, Fresno is a great place for students who want to go out with friends. It also serves as a place where you can bring your kids and have a fun family day. They have a variety of games and activities in their arcade. You can earn prizes at the prize counter, or if you aren’t interested in video games, it also serves as a bar if you are over 21. As your children are off playing in the arcade, you can wind down with a drink and watch sports.
If you are a fan of classic arcade games and want a cheaper alternative to Dave & Busters. OH WOW! NICKEL ARCADE has games like Donkey Kong, Pac-Man, and Mrs. Pac-Man. All it takes for admission is $3.95, where you can play all the games you could think of. Each machine takes 1-6 nickels. It also has a section of games that are completely free.
Blackbeard’s Mini Golf is a fun activity that allows you to be active and have fun with friends and families. Admissions are $16 per person and it can be cheaper depending on your group size. Mini golf is not the only thing that they have to offer. Some other things they have are bumper boats, go-karts, and laser tag to name a few. There are so many options that you could spend an entire day there and still have things left to do.
Art Hop is a completely free option for families to come out and support local artists. It takes place on the first and third Thursday of every month. The first day focuses on Downtown Fresno and the Tower District with the second focusing on Metropolitan Fresno. You will have to do a lot of walking if you plan to go, as the art exhibition is not all in the same building. It is spread out across a portion of the city. You have a variety of vendors where there is an option to purchase their work, or you can go to the more traditional art gallery and take tours of the pieces and their history.
OLD TOWN CLOVIS RODEO
The Clovis Rodeo is an exciting way to introduce yourself to a new culture in a fun and relaxing way. The rodeo always takes place during the last week of April. If you missed it, do not worry; tickets are already on sale for next year. If you are new to the area, this is a great way to learn more about the history and roots of Clovis. There are riders of all ages competing. It even involves children with their own rides and makes them feel included. Tickets can be a bit pricey ranging from 20-35 dollars each.
If you need help finding the locations listed in the article or additional information click here for an interactive map. These are just some of the things that Fresno and Clovis have to offer.
