Hi Students,
I hope all is well. I wanted to summarize the logistics of the course in an email to help you get acclimated to the semester.
There are three types of assignments: homework, activities, and WPs. The WPs are due at the start of class. You can check which WP assignments we'll be discussing during which classes by looking at the course calendar and schedule from the course homepage. The class schedule also lists when the activities and homework assignments are due, and when you should watch the lecture videos. Notice that the course calendar splits the classes into WPs and activities. For example, during the next class we'll be discussing Activity I and WP1. During the activity sessions, we will discuss the background material for the activities; I will then give you some time to work on the activity during class and ask questions about it.
The course calendar also lists the exam weeks, highlighted in red. The exams are online, and you will be able to see and submit them anytime during the exam week. Once the submission deadline has passed, however, there will be no extensions for any reason. I also do not offer makeup exams. However, I will drop the lowest exam. You may use any non-human resources you like to complete the exams; you may not, however, share the exam questions in any way with anyone else. The assignments will play a role in the final grade in that 25% of the exam questions will come directly from the assignments.
