The minor requires 19 credits:
PHYS 145.4 (4): Principles of Physics I
Prerequisites: MATH 142 or 151.
Prerequisite or Corequisite: PHYS 145.1
PHYS 146.4 (4): Principles of Physics II
Prerequisites: PHYS 121.4 or 145.4 and either MATH 143 or 152. Prerequisite or
Corequisite: PHYS 146.1
ASTR 201: Introduction to Astrophysics (two 2 hour lectures) (4)
Prerequisites: PHYS 145, 146
ASTR 202: Introduction to Astrophysics, part II (two 2 hour lectures) (4)
Prerequisites: PHYS 145, 146
ASTR 383: VT Special Topics (3)
Prerequisites: 145, 146, or by instructor permission
The topic will be tailored to student interest. Topics might include
cosmology
data analysis in astronomy
particle astrophysics
observational astronomy
the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence and the Fermi paradox
