DONALD E. McGINNIS is Professor of Music, Director of the Concert Band, and Head of the Instrumental Division of the School of Music of The Ohio State University. He studied the clarinet with George Waln and Himie Voxman while studying at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music and The University of Iowa, where he received the Doctor of Philosphy Degree. While the OSU Concert Band has received international acclaim and has recorded extensively under his baton, Dr. McGinnis has continued a career as a soloist, clinician and conductor, and orchestral performer on both the flute and clarinet.
He has appeared as soloist throughout the country, and his musical experience has been enriched through performances with the Walden and Alard Quartets, Adele Addison, Frederick Wilkins, Adolph Herseth, James Pellerite, Bernard Goldberg, and many others. As an orchestral player he has performed under such esteemed musicians as: Igor Stravinsky, Nadia Boulanger, Dmitri Mitropoulous, Aaron Copland, Izler Solomon, Evan Whallon, and Louis Lane.
His recordings, "Clarinet Contest Music" and "Flute-Clarinet Duets" have been accorded highest praise in national reviews, as has his recording to accompany "Etudes for the Advanced Clarinetist" by McGinnis & Siennicki (pub. by Shawnee Press). His articles have appeared in national magazines, and he is considered an authority on the woodwind section in the symphony orchestra and concert band.

MYRA BAKER received her Master of Music degree in piano from Indiana University and did further piano study there with Sidney Foster. While a member of the music faculty of Texas Wesleyan College in Fort Worth, Texas, she was active as a piano soloist and accompanist. Presently, she is pianist for the First Unitarian Church of Columbus, Ohio, and performs extensively in chamber music in the Columbus area
