I know what you must be thinking… Wait a minute, McReligion? Is it a cult?!
Dont worry, we are kind of crazy but this isn't a cult. The thing is that, here in Argentina it's part of the slang to say as a joke that, whenever you are really into a celebrity, "you pray to them". So that happens to be the case here, for us, Mcfly are our Gods of Rock & Roll. That’s why we created this “estampitas”
What's an "Estampita"?!
It’s a card with the image of a saint that people use to pray to them. We don’t mean to offend any religion, on the contrary, we created our own: the McReligion. These “estampitas” are the result of a mix of our cultural religious traditions and our love for McFly.
We printed A LOT of “estampitas” to give away in Rio, while we waited for the show at Qualistage. Some of the fans who got them shared the “Estampitas” on their Instagram stories!
We had two versions, the Argentinian ones and the generic ones for the Brazilian fans :) We also gave away some stickers with our old LOGO, so people can follow us and get to know us.
We’ve already seen them in Rio. Now, what?
After the incredible days we lived in Rio, we cannot stand the idea of waiting for them another 13 years.
So, while we were there, we took the opportunity to chat with their tour manager. We explained that we are from Argentina, and that we would love them to come back. To be honest, he was kind of surprised about this, because he couldn’t believe that McFly would have a fandom big enough to get them here. However, he confessed that the reason why they went so much to Brazil, was mainly because of the noise that brazilian fans managed to create through their famous “Come to Brazil” spamming, so, it was only a matter of replicating this noise for Argentina to show them that here there’s enough market to bring them back to our beloved country.
Therefore, we accepted this challenge, we decided to make this happen and bring Mcfly back to Argentina. In the meantime, we are looking at the tour list of cities they are going to, with the ambition to save enough money to travel to see them again, but now as a consolidated group of friends.
