What We Do

There are two types of projects in which McFarland Lioness/Lions Club members are involved.

Our Volunteer Service Projects include:

• • Vision screening at schools.

  • Serving as eye tissue transporters.

  • Delivering greeting cards to older adults in assisted living.

  • Collecting food and other needs for the McFarland Food Pantry. 

  • Providing needed items for students and classrooms.

Our Fundraising Projects include:

• • Raffle Party (April).

  • Poinsettia Sale (November/December).

  • Holiday Auction (November).

  • Bake Sales:

    • • Lions Memorial Day Chicken BBQ (May).

      • McFarland Winter Wonderland Craft & Vendor Fair (December).

The proceeds from these events support our club financial donations to organizations in our local community and beyond.

Other Club Activities 

The McFarland Lioness build new friendships through social events including:

• • Summer outing (one-day bus trip in July).

  • Our monthly meetings.

We collaborate with the McFarland Lions (our sponsoring club) for events including:

• • McFarland Community Festival Beer Tent (4th Weekend of September).

  • Food Truck Frenzy (3rd Wednesday, May-September).

  • “Stuff the Bus” School Supply Drive (Late July & August).

  • UW Women’s Hockey Concession Stand (October–March).

Our members volunteer in the community including:

• • Helping the McFarland Food Pantry do a deep clean for the McFarland Community Service Day (annually around Earth Day).

  • Assisting other local organizations:

    • • Our members joined the American Legion cleaning headstones at McFarland Cemeteries.

      • We volunteered at the Three Gaits 40th Anniversary Celebration.

      • Our club has served food at the Fire & EMS Open House.

The McFarland Lioness help our environment by: 

• • Picking up recycled plastic film collected by our community (our club has collected enough plastic to earn four benches for the McFarland Pickle Ball Courts as of May 2024).  

  • Members participating in the Dane County Adopt-A-Storm-Drain project.
