For most college students midterm week means stress and anxiety, but for a select few of us Jonesboro students, midterm week means war.
On the Sunday night before midterms begin, a few of my friends and I gather to draw secret numbers out of a hat. These numbers will determine the order of events that will take place during the week. When Monday morning rolls around, it is game on. Whoever has drawn number one, kicks off this tradition by choosing someone to prank. These pranks have ranged from placing googley eyes all around someone's room to filling bathtubs full of jello and none of them have ever been the same. In order to execute these pranks we use favors from room mates, detailed planning based on when people will be out of the apartment, and a lot of brainstorming. This means that we take weeks prior to midterm week preparing and coming up with ideas to execute. When prank one has been completed we wait for it to be discovered. As soon as it has been found, the person who discovered the prank has to video what has been done and send it to the group. This allows everyone to see what the first person did and it is a cue for person two to get started. We continue like this for the whole week and when midterms are finally over, we reveal who did each prank. All of this really is just silly, but it sure does make midterms less stressful.
