Medieval Portland
This online capstone is typically offered in the spring quarter.
This online exhibition of a 1507 Book of Hours printed by Thielman Kerver showcases the work of recent capstone students, who had the the opportunity to collaborate with visiting scholar, Maud Perez-Simon (Université Sorbonne Nouvelle - Paris 3).
Medieval Portland houses a database of medieval artworks and manuscripts in Portland collections, and was awarded an Artstor Digital Humanities Award. I've developed the database over the last decade with research from students in the University Studies senior capstone program. The site also includes additional features such as a walking map of medieval-inspired local architecture, which was used recently as the basis of a high school trip to explore this facet of our local architecture.
