Are you looking to get a head start on your education after high school? CollegeNOW! fall classes can help you take classes towards your certificate or degree at MCC or take classes that will transfer to another high education institution towards a degree. As an MCC student, you will be able to take classes online or in person during the regular fall quarter.
Note: The high school tuition waiver still applies for high school seniors during the summer after they graduate high school.
Look at MCC's fall catalog to determine which classes are available at the times that work well for you. Make sure the right filters are checked, so you will be viewing the right classes. The first filter you will need to choose is the subject area. Listed below are subject areas for classes that are commonly taken by high school students during the summer.
Public Speaking: Communication Studies
English Composition I: English
Statistics: Mathematics
College Algebra: Mathematics
Anatomy & Psychology: Biology
Real Estate Law: Real Estate
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA): Health
Medical Terminology I: Health Info. Mgmt. Systems
Once you've found your subject area, checkmark the "2023 Credit Fall" option in the quarter category. You can also filter your options by location and times of the day. After your filters are checked, you will be able to see all the available classes within the parameters of your filters.
Once you know the class(es) you would like to take during the fall quarter, complete the CollegeNOW! form. This form can be downloaded and completed in your Noteability app on your school iPad. If you do not know your MCC ID, you should contact your Dual Enrollment Navigator.
All your demographic information on the form should be typed and complete. If you have questions or are unable to provide any information on the form, reach out to your Dual Enrollment Navigator. To complete the course registration section, you will need to include the subject, which is usually 4 letters long (example: Communication Studies is COMS). The course number indicates which course level you are taking (example: Public Speaking is 1110). The section number indicates the time and location for that specific class. The course title is the name of the course you are taking (example: Public Speaking).
To submit your CollegeNOW form, email it to your Dual Enrollment Navigator at awiese@mccneb.edu or Central Registration. If you would like your Dual Enrollment Navigator to register you for this class, include that information in the email.
Are you signing up for an English, Math, or Science class? There might be pre-requisites that do not allow you to enroll for the class. If this is the case, reach out to your Dual Enrollment Navigator.
Follow our step-by-step guide to help set you up for success for your class. If you need help before or during your class, do not hesitate to reach out to your MCC Navigator.
If you have never taken classes through CollegeNOW! or are taking a different type of class, we strongly recommend that you sign up for CollegeNOW! orientation. CollegeNOW! orientation takes place at your high school and lasts approximately 30 minutes. If you are unable to attend at a time when it is already offered, schedule a "Student Meeting" with your Dual Enrollment Navigator.
Planners will be available for all students enrolled in a CollegeNOW class, regardless of if they attend orientation.
