Mahamakut Buddhist University aims to produce capable graduates with good knowledge and behaviors. They will receive their master’s degree on the commencement ceremony which will be held at Mahamakut Buddhist University, Salaya, Nakhon Pathom, on December 18 and 19, 2022.

On talking about Mahamakut Buddhist University Isan Campus, we think of two important monks who play a crucial role in administrating the campus: Phrakrusutheejariyawat, Assist. Prof. Dr., the dynamic Vice-rector of Mahamakut Buddhist University Isan Campus and Phrakrudhammabhissamai, Assist. Prof. Dr., the energetic Director of Academic Service Unit of Mahamakut Buddhist University Isan Campus.
Last year, on the 1st of October 2021, Mahamakut Buddhist University celebrated the 128th Anniversary of the university establishment. On this auspicious occasion, two venerable monks of Mahamakut Buddhist University Isan Campus received the outstanding honours. Phrakru Sutheejariyawattna, Vice-Rector of Mahamakut Buddhist University received the award of Vicha Jarana Sampanno (Best Knowledge and Righteous Behaviour). Phrakru Vinaithornchavaphit Sudhiro, special lecturer of MBUISC and abbot of Makutwimuttikiri Temple received an award of Righteous Contribution (Kunna Sampanno).
MBUISC never lacks potential persons. This year, our energetic and active Director of ASU receives the award of Vicha Jarana Sampanno (Best Knowledge and Righteous Behaviour) from Mahamakut Buddhist University. We all rejoice this great honour and take pride in our venerable director, Phrakrudhammabhissamai, who always do all activities for giving knowledge about Buddhism and education to the public without fatigue.
We would like to express our Sadhu rejoicing to our beloved director for this Vicha Jarana Sampanno Award. This magnificent prize will be conferred on him by Mahamakut Buddhist University on October 1st, 2022, the 129th Anniversary of the university establishment.

Dhamma Practice for the Students of Mahamakut Buddhist University Isan Campus.
On September 22, 2022, Mahamakut Buddhist University Isan Campus organised a Dhamma Practice for the students of the campus.
Phrakrusutheejariyawat, Assist. Prof. Dr., Vice-rector of MBUISC presided over the Dhamma Practice of all the MBUISC students.
MBUISC has its mission to cultivate the students to behave themselves in a good way. Dhamma practice and meditation practice will lead them to do good deeds for the society.
Mahamakut Buddhist University Isan Campus (MBUISC) will organise the 1st Training of Meditation Practice of the Academic Year of 2022 for all the graduate students of the institute.
The Meditation Practice is one of the institute programs offered to all the graduate students.
The meditation practice will be held between 17 and 18 September 2022 at Sirindhon Academic Service Center, Mahamakut Buddhist University Isan Campus.
Time passed so quickly. From Friday, 2nd September to Wednesday, 7th September 2022, our 8th Project Seminar of Buddhist Delegates for the Development and Propagation of Buddhism in the Mekong and Asia Regions started and ended well as we would like it to be.
Yesterday (Tuesday, 6th September) the Most Venerable Phradhammadilok, Advisor for Governor-General of Ecclesiastical Region 9 and Abbot of Wat Pa Saeng Arun Temple, generously presided over the closing ceremony at Wat Pa Saeng Arun Temple.
The Most Venerable Phradhammadilok gave useful advice to the venerable delegates from 8 countries. ASU will present his advice in the nearest future.
On behalf of the host of the project, MBUISC would like to express its deep gratitude to all Kru Ba Ajarn who kindly and generously shared their knowledge and experiences about Buddhism, Dhamma practice and Meditation practice to all the venerable delegates.
The venerable participants also shared their ideas and experiences to one another. It seemed like all the participants were in the same Dhamma Utthayan (Dhamma Park) and helped one another to plants the Buddhist trees (maybe the Kalapaphreuk tree as said Luang Phor Sudhiro).
Now, it is not a saying-goodbye moment, but it is time for us to start our propagation of Buddhism together.
Our tree of cooperation will grow up and yield its fruits to people around the world.

On Tuesday 6th September 2022, around 8 o’clock in the morning, the Buddhist delegates and the lay participants were warmly welcomed by Phra Ajahn Jarit Vachiramethi, Abbot of Ubonratana Dam Temple.
Around 9. 30, Luang Phor Jarit kindly led the Venerable delegates and the lay participants to
to take a look at community forest which was one of several projects initiated by Venerable Luang Phor Jarit.
"This forest of which plants yield usuful crops for the community is one of the projects to help to reduce the globql warming", said Luang Phor Jarit.
Then, Luang Phor Jarit led the venerable visitors to pay respect to the image of Luang Pu Chao Khun Phra Mongkol Phrommasan, generally known as Luang Pu Phrom, former abbot of the temple.
The venerable delegates did the chanting in the cave, then went to pay homage to the reclining Bouddha situated under the natural stone bridge which dated back to 140 million years.
The venerable delegates also admired the magnificent Naga which surrounds the image of Buddha.
Next the Venerable delegates went into the vihara of Ubolratana Dam Temple. They attended the presentation of the history of the temple and the imporant roles of Phra Ajahn Jarit Vachiramethi.
“Growing useful plants in the temple area and in the community forest" is his eminent project of creating supportive environment to stop global warming.
The Venerable delegates from 8 countries and the lay participants would like to express their gratitude for the warmest welcome and the useful sharing of Buddhist missions for the society of the outstanding abbot of Ubolratana Dam Temple.

The morning beams in Ubolrattana Dam were filled with the serenity of walking meditation and the peacefulness of sitting meditation in the Vihara on the hill situated near Ubolratana Dam.
The most venerable Luang Phor Sudhiro shared the experiences of meditation practice to all venerable delegates.
The evening session began with the special speech from Venerable Phramaha Jarit Vachiramethi, abbot of Ubolratana Dam Temple.
The abbot of the temple shared his experiences of implementing several projects for the temple development.
The second session allowed the Buddhist delegates to share their their ideas and experiences about Buddhism and the propagations of Buddhism in their countries.
The Venerable delegate from Sri Lanka told the audience about Buddhism in his country and shared his knowledge about how to practice meditation in Sri Lanka.
Next, the Venerable delegate from Myanmar explained the meditation practice in Myanmar, especially in his university.
The Venerable delegate from Laos expressed his thanks for the seminar, "As the representative of ten Lao delegates participating in the seminar, I would like to express my deep gratitude to MBUISC for organising a very wonderful seminar". And he told the audience about the three-year plan and four-year plan of the propagation of Buddhism in Laos.
The Venerable delegate from Indonesia began his talk on greeting the audience with some Indonesian and Thai words. Then he expessed his deep thanks for the organiser of the seminar.
He also talked about two usuful applications: "Siladham for People (ศีลธรรมเพื่อประชาชน) from Luang Ta Maha Bua" and the application developed by the Si Vichaya students.
Veberable from Indonesia suggested the audience about the importance of English and social media in propagating Buddhism.
Indonesian Venerable ended his idea sharing interestingly, "The obstacles of tuition fee, accommodation and food should be taken into consideration for the Buddhist countries in accepting Buddhist foreign students".
Luang Phor Sudhiro talked about the Dhamma Meeting Program organised every Friday at 13 o'clock (UK time) by Dhamma friends in the UK.
Luang Phor Sudhiro invited the audience to join the program. And the new meeting project via zoom or any other platform will be presented on September 6, the last day of the seminar.
On September 5, 2022, the Buddhist delegates and the lay participants visited Phu Khieo Wildlife Sanctuary to study how several spicies of mammals, birds and reptiles are preserved in the sanctuary.
The Buddhist delegates and the lay participants also visited Phrabat Phu Phan Kham Temple situated near Ubolratana Dam and paid respect to the Venerable Phrakrujittasophon, abbot of the temple.
Phrakrujittasophon told the delegate-visitors about his monkhood life, the history of Phu Phan Kham Temple, the meditation practice in the temple, and finally Luang Phor the abbot adressed a warm welcome to the audience.

On September 4, 2022, the morning session of the 8th Project Seminar of Buddhist Delegates for the Development and Propagation of Buddhism in the Mekong and Asia Region began with "Walking Meditation" along the road in Chulabhorn Dam.
The Buddhist delegates and the lay participants led by Luang Phir Sudhiro walked peacefully in a line.
At the completetion of the walking meditation, the Buddhist delegates and the lay participants practiced sitting meditation, then did their chanting.

In the afternoon session of September 4, 2022, there was a group discussion on the topic of "How do you spread Dhamma and Meditation in your country?"
The delegates were divided into 6 groups and discussed about the given topic. Then, the groups will give their presentations in the evening session.

In the evening of September 3, the most Venerable Phrakru Winaithon Chaowaphit Sudhiro, the Buddhist delegates, the teachers and the students of MBUISC went to pay respect to Luang Phor Phrasiriworakhun, abbot of Chulabhorn Dam Temple (Wat Khuen Chulabhon).
Luang Phor Phrasiriworakhun presided over "the meditation practice according to the mindfullness and implementation".
The Buddhist delegates from the 8 countries and the staff of MBUISC gained an valuable experience of meditation practice admist the tranquility of nature.

On September 3, 2022, the opening ceremony of the the 8th Project Seminar of Buddhist Delegates for the Development and Propagation of Buddhism in the Mekong and Asia Region was held at Sirindhon Academic Service Center in Mahamakut Buddhist University Isan Campus (MBUISC).
At 9 o’clock, Phradhavavajramedhi, Assist. Prof. Dr., Rector of Mahamakut Buddhist University, Chairperson of the ceremony, paid homage to the Triple Gem.
Phrakrusutheejariyawat, Assist. Prof. Dr., Vice-rector of MBUISC together with the representatives of Buddhist delegates from 8 countries paid respect to the chairperson.
Then the Vice-rector of MBUISC gave a report on the organization of the seminar to the chairperson.
Phradhavavajramedhi, Assist. Prof. Dr., Rector of Mahamakut Buddhist University, blessed the gathering and delivered an opening speech.
Phrakrusutheejariyawat, Assist. Prof. Dr., Vice-rector of MBUISC, gave a welcome adress to the delegations.
Then, Phrakru Winaithon Chaowapith Sudhiro, Advisor of MBUISC and abbot of Makutwimuttikiri Temple, adressed a warm greeting to the participants.
Mr. Somporn Chan-Ud, Director of Khon Kaen Provincial Office of Buddhist, on behalf of the governor of Khon Kaen, adressed a welcome speech to the delegates from the 8 countries.
The opening ceremony ended with the two cultural performances from the students of Mahamakut Buddhist University Isan Campus and Khon Kaen University.
From 10th to 11th of August, 2022, Mahamakut Buddhist University Isan Campus organized a project of Samanen Yod Mongkut Isan 2022 (B.E. 2565) (Isan Crown Novices).
This project allowed the Thai Novices and Lao Novices to come to gain knowledge of Buddhist Dhamma and share their experience of studying Buddhism.
On August 10, the administrators of MBUISC welcomed twenty Lao novices under the supervision of Venerable Sisouk Saluemkhoun, Dr., who has just graduated his Ph.D. From Mahamakut Buddhist University Isan Campus. The novices and some of the host students from MBUISC presented themselves and shared their ideas about education in both countries.
On August 6-7, 2022, Phrakrudhammabhissamai, Asst. Prof. Dr., Director of Academic Service Unit, Mahamakut Buddhist University Isan Campus, together with the university staff, the administrators, and the teachers of Muang Phon Pittayakhom School, organized a camp for learning and training morality and ethics for the 600 Mathayomsuksa 4 students.
The youth is the most important generation of the society. Sharing them knowledge and experience about morality and ethics will help to create a righteous path for them and they will embrace these two good qualities of life.
In the afternoon of Thursday 4, after joining the closing ceremony of the seminar on digital technology university, a fast mover team of Academic Service Unit of MBUISC, led by Phrakrudhammabhissamai, Asst. Prof. Dr., Director of ASU, made their journey to Phu Wiang District.
The team’s mission was to pay a visit to the MBUISC students who organized the Student Camp for Rural Development in Phu Wiang District.
We have only one life, but we can perform several good acts for developing our society.
Today, August 4, 2022, is the second day of the seminar on Digital Technology for the MBU staff members. At 8.30, all the administrators and staff of MBUISC together with the participants of other campuses do the chanting, then Dr. Akchatee Suksen, Assistant-Rector of Mahamakut Buddhist University Isan Campus, reported the input and process of the seminar to the audience. Phrakrupalad Suwattanabhramajariyakun, Vice-Rector of Students’ Affairs and Digital Technology of Mahamakut Buddhist University led the synthesis of the seminar.

"In the world of digital technology, you are the most important persons."
Asst. Prof. Dr. Denpong Sudphakdi, Vice-President of Digital of Khon Kaen University, shared his knowledge and experience on “Roles of Support Personnel on Using Digital Technology in Works”.
On August 2, 2022, at Mahamakut Buddhist University Isan Campus, Phra Michael Chatapanyo, from Wat Makutwimuttikiri, Wiang Kao, Khon Kaen, gave a talk of “Living in the Dhamma” in English to the students who participated in English for Life Program.
Phrakrudhammabhissamai, Asst.Prof. Dr., Director of ASU, MBUISC and Phramaha Wiruth Wirochano, Asst. Prof. Dr., a lecturer of MBUISC also joined this casual and natural talk.
A lot of interesting questions were asked by the students: In monasteries in UK, do monks chant in Pali ?; How can we live in the present moment ?, and so on. The students also presented their dialogues in English.
The participants shared their experience about learning English and gained knowledge about Dhamma.

On July 28, 2022, Phrakrudhammabhissamai, Asst. Prof. Dr., Director of Academic Service Unit, Mahamakut Buddhist University Isan Campus, was invited by the Director of Kanlayanawat School, Khon Kaen, Mr. Reungyod Wadlom, to give Dhamma practice to the students.
“These youth will grow up and will be the persons with high quality.
On receiving good things from grown-up persons, these students will understand and learn good ways of helping people and developing Thai society”, said our ASU Director who always encourages the youth to find their ability and to behave righteously.

The Ordination Ceremony in honour of the 90th Anniversary of Queen Mother.
August 12 is the Queen Mother’s birthday. To honour the 90th Anniversary of Queen Mother, H.M. Queen Sirikit, Khon Kaen Province and Khon Kaen Sangha organised the ordination ceremony of 910 monks at Wat Si Chan Royal Temple, Khon Kaen.
On July 24, 2022, at Wat Si Chan Royal Temple, there was a head shave ceremony of 910 new monks.
Venerable Phra Thepphutthimuni, Khon Kaen Provincial Ecclesiastic Chief Monk, presided over this ceremony.
The ordination ceremony took place at Wat Si Chan Royal Temple on July 25. The ceremony was presided by Venerable Phradhammadilok, Advisor of Ecclesiastic Chief Monk of the 9th Region.
Mr. Punthep Saokoson, Khon Kaen Vice-governor, and all the laity participated in this ceremony.
The new monks will practice Dhamma from July 25 to August 13, and some of them will stay at Wat Makutwimuttikiri, Wiang Kao District, Khon Kaen.
