Welcome!
We are an informal club based in Mahone Bay who play mahjong for fun and friendship. There is no gambling involved and the emphasis is decidedly not on competition! Our games proceed according to simplified Hong Kong rules and if we have extra legs (players) the winner of a game sits out the next one to allow someone else to play - leaving some leg room, as it were 😀 Mahjong is a simple game to learn and we are happy to welcome new players at any time. Besides being fun, the game has many documented mental health benefits!
If you have never played before, you may find these two introductory videos helpful:
On Thursday afternoons from 2 - 4pm we meet in the Joseph Feeney Bell Tower & Library at the Mahone Bay Centre where we can accommodate three tables. There is also space for any extra players to sit and socialize in comfort. The MBC kitchen provides tea and coffee for a nominal price. Please feel free to bring some nibbles to share.
Drop in for a free introductory game or two, after which we ask for a small donation each time you attend for room rental.

We look forward to meeting you!
