HOWELL MOVEMENT DETAILS ...
The steps for scoring travelers during a Howell movement are as follows:
FIRST THING TO NOTE – your pair number is NOT the number of your first table !!
Remember your pair number. It is the number corresponding to your position at your first table, Check the E/W or N/S number on the plastic chart at each table. You use that same number throughout the night.
If you are in a N/S position, at the end of each hand, find your pair number in the NS column on the traveler. Write the EW pair number next to your NS number.
If you are in a E/W position at a table, check that the person in the N position fills out the traveler correctly, especially that your correct pair number is written in the EW column.
Always write the bid and result details, and additionally also write the score (use a score card if you don't know the score). The reason for this is that, if there is an error elsewhere on the traveler, having the bids, results and scores for other pairs can assist in resolving an incorrect entry.
