Unearth Your Story this summer at the Mayville Public Library! Registration opens May 17th!
Get Ready to have a ROOOOO-ARSOME Summer!
Get ready to dig into a summer full of dinosaurs, fossils, archaeology, messy science, games, crafts, and roar-some adventures at the Mayville Public Library! Programs will be offered for littles, kids, teens, AND adults — including weekly activities and reading tracking all summer long.
Weekly Programs:
Babies (0-2): Fridays @ 10:30 - Our littlest dinosaur fans are invited to join us for a gentle, lap-sit story time featuring 2–3 books, songs, rhymes, and wiggles in between stories. Each week will be led by a special guest reader! While there is no formal activity afterward, families are encouraged to stay, play, and connect with one another after story time. Perfect for babies and toddlers with their grown-up sidekick!
Littles (3-5): Wednesdays @ 10:30 - Get ready to stomp, sing, move, and discover! This interactive story time includes books, songs, movement activities, and a hands-on themed activity each week connected to our “Unearth a Story” adventures. Designed especially for preschoolers to those entering Kindergarten, this program encourages curiosity, creativity, and early literacy skills through play.
Middles (6-11): Tuesdays @ 10:30 - Young explorers will dig deeper into our weekly themes through stories, short educational videos, science fun, crafts, games, and hands-on activities. From dinosaur digs to archaeology experiments, each week offers new ways to learn, create, and discover while keeping reading skills sharp all summer long.
Teens (12-17): Mondays @ 4:00 - Teens can excavate their creativity with themed projects, challenges, experiments, and activities inspired by paleontology, archaeology, science, and history. Each session begins with a short introduction or educational video before diving into the activity of the week. Expect hands-on fun, creative projects, and plenty of prehistoric-sized laughs.
Adults (18 - 120): Mondays @ 6:30 - Who says summer reading is just for kids? Adults are invited to join us each week for themed activities, creative projects, discussions, and community fun connected to our “Unearth a Story” theme. Track your reading, try something new, and enjoy a relaxed evening of discovery and creativity at the library.
