Volunteer
The Mayville Public Library welcomes volunteer applications year round from applicants ages 14 and up. (Volunteers ages 16 and under need parent permission.) Volunteers work 1-3 hours per week and assist with various library tasks under staff supervision.
Tasks may include, but are not limited to:
Home delivery to housebound patrons (must have valid Driver’s license)
Shelving, shelf-reading
Helping with incoming and outgoing materials delivery
Clerical tasks such as photocopying, paper trimming, craft preparation, labeling, book covering, and stamping
Summer reading program
Gardening and seasonal grounds-keeping (recycling, raking, watering, weeding, mulching)
Programming, including presenting programs to the public
Assisting with crafts and storytelling
Donate
The Library accepts monetary gifts year-round, and has long-term giving and bequest options for benefactors.

Wills and Bequests: Please speak with the Library Director to discuss long term giving, gift accounts in a loved one’s memory, or bequests.
Books & Other Items: We are accepting gently used books. They must be published within the last ten years. Any and all books donated to the library become the property of the library. If donated books are not added to the collection, they will be put into the book sale. Please note we can only accept donations in good, saleable condition. We cannot sell items that are yellowed or aged, brittle, damaged, written in, moldy, wet, or smelly. We do not accept textbooks, magazines, clothing, records, or VHS or cassette tapes. Please do not put donations in the Library Book Return.
