About Me
My name is Marsyas, but you can call me Mar(He/They). I'm known online as my art tag Maysar, which I've used ever since I first started digital art in 2015. Despite being unsure where I wanted to land career-wise, I always knew art had to be a part of my life. I've always had a inseparable passion for the nuanced way creative processes allow us to be vulnerable and build communities. My goal as an artist has always been to create works that others can connect to, and that's what keeps me going.

My goal as an artist has always been to create works that others can connect to, and that's what keeps me going.
From coloring pages, to refence sheets, from promo art to card decks, any place I can get my grubby little artist hands on is not safe from me! I'm up for any artistic challenge and I give everything I do 200% of myself. (seriously, not even dinner will stop me from working.)
In 2022, I graduated with my BFA in Art Education, with my art concentration in drawing! During my college experience, studied both art, going all the way to advanced studies, and education. I both interned and did student teaching, working in an at-risk school creating personalized lesson plans and working one-on-one with students.
Between 2023 and 2024, I worked as a part of the 30+ member team that created the Queer Expansive Tarot Project, a queer-focused tarot deck that reimagined the original cards in connection to flags and themes that aimed to validate and teach about queer history and identities. For the project, I created a card, a collection of 80+ digital backgrounds and sticker sheets.

Experience
Between 2021-2025, I've worked with a variety of clients creating character art, narrative illustrations, limited edition prints, TTRPG art promos for small creators, and fun works that realize jokes and impactful moments from narrative stories. In my handful of years as a full-time freelance artist, i've created hundreds of original works.
In 2021, I participated in a project with a local company that creates career opportunities for blind and visually impaired individuals. Through the project, we learned the personal stories of visually impaired participants, recreating their experiences into art pieces that allowed the local community to get a glimpse into their life as a blind person. Of the art participants, my work was one of six chosen and displayed as a large banner on the building from May 2022-May 2023.
Since July 2024, I have created one Major Arcana deck and another full 77 card deck as well as plenty of individual and small tarot card packs, both black and white and rendered. Each card is made as print quality, with personalized backs as well to match each pack's theming!
In February 2025, I worked with Storytime Games on their indie project, Three Bulky Bears, creating the storybook-esque cutscenes.
This project was originally started by another artist who had to drop the project, meaning I was tasked with parroting and improving the other artist's style as well as polishing their past work.
Between drafting, concepting, and collaboration, I created 80+ moveable assets and ~100 images total.

At the end of 2025 and spanning into 2026, I've worked with multiple authors - Gale Ian Tate, Ronan Marlow, G Eisel, Bernie Brackford, L Kain - who write MM content, as well as worked with production assistants such as Bind Me Creations and Thistle & Page in creating promotional work and prints.
I currently am open for - and would love to work on - more book promotional material and covers, as well as other MM centered content such as Visual Novels and Dating sims.
