Anatomy & Kinesiology Instructor
Maya is a Registered Kinesiologist with a Master's degree in Exercise Physiology and more than 10 years of experience in exercise science, anatomy, kinesiology, and rehabilitation.
Alongside her clinical work, Maya has extensive experience teaching Anatomy, Kinesiology, and Therapeutic Exercise at post-secondary institutions, including VCMT, CDI College, and VACC.
Her background in both exercise science and education allows her to bring a strong scientific foundation to every rehabilitation program. She applies her knowledge of human anatomy, biomechanics, exercise physiology, and movement science to develop individualized treatment and exercise programs based on each client's specific needs and functional goals.
Every person starts from a different place.
At Maya Rehab, rehabilitation is not based on a one-size-fits-all exercise program. Each client begins with an individualized assessment to better understand their movement, physical capacity, limitations, and goals.
Based on this information, a structured and progressive rehabilitation program is developed. Exercise selection, intensity, volume, and progression are continuously adjusted according to the client's response and progress.
Maya combines clinical experience, exercise science, and evidence-informed rehabilitation principles to help clients improve their:
Strength
Mobility
Balance
Endurance
Functional movement
Physical capacity
Confidence with movement
The goal is to create a rehabilitation program that is purposeful, measurable, progressive, and relevant to your everyday life.
With more than a decade of experience in exercise science and education, Maya brings both academic knowledge and practical experience to her work.
Her teaching experience in anatomy, kinesiology, and therapeutic exercise has given her a strong understanding of how the human body moves and responds to exercise. This knowledge is incorporated into the development and progression of individualized rehabilitation programs.
At Maya Rehab, science guides the approach, but your individual goals guide the treatment.
