Bones

Skeleton

Parrots, like other birds, have hollow bones to help save weight and allow for flight. Even though some parrots do not fly, they still have hollow bones. The beak is sharp and strong enough to break seed casings, and various nuts. Depending on the species of parrot they will have between 13 and 25 bones. Compared to a human that has 206 bones, that is not a lot. Parrots even have bones in their tongues.
