Max Marczinek

I am a PhD (DPhil) student in Economics at the University of Oxford and a Research Associate at the University of Hohenheim. Later this year, I will join the University of Oslo as a tenure-track Assistant Professor.

My main field of research is International Trade. I am also interested in Growth, Economic History, and Labour Economics. I am further a member of the Industrial Policy Group.

I am delighted to share that I have been selected as a finalist in the ECB's Young Economist Prize 2026. My Job Market Paper has won the FREIT-EIIT Award for Best Graduate Paper in Empirical Trade and the GSWG & Stiftung für die Wissenschaft Best Paper Award Economic and Social History.
