I'm an undergraduate researcher at California State University, Monterey Bay studying fish evolution, population genetics, and how to add more hours to the day. I grew up in the SF Bay Area and previously studied business management at Santa Clara University. I'm passionate about science communication and the intersection of nature and art. My research interests center around biodiversity monitoring, particularly in the deep sea. When I'm not tearing my hair out over rockfish identifications, I'm either diving 50ft below the waves or knee-deep in the tidepools.
At California State University, Monterey Bay I am an undergraduate researcher in Dr. Liz Alter's lab. I recently completed a project investigating drivers of rockfish speciation. I'm currently a research intern at the NOAA Southwest Fisheries Science Center Collaborative Institute with the University of California, Santa Cruz. I work in the Molecular Ecology and Genetic Analysis lab, and generate genetic data involved in the management and restoration of anadromous fish populations in California.
