The Future, 17 x 14 in, 2024, Charcoal on paper
The Future is a charcoal piece I made about the unsustainable urbanization of modern cities, especially Los Angeles. The scene depicted is a highway overpass near my school that I walk through to get home. Several unhoused people live there in encampments. I wanted to make a piece where climate change, government decay, and societal oppression is not a “future” possibility but rather a present reality.
