The SOS families located in the community constitute an innovative alternative care option for children without parental care. The houses are situated outside the SOS Children’s Village compound, aiming at encouraging better socialization and integration of children. It supports families in 136 countries and territories. Since 1949, it now embraces 50 dedicated staff members and 200 children providing them with key services such as:

• Love, care and protection,

• Psycho-social support by psychologists, social workers and other professionals,

• Therapeutic activities to heal traumas due to past abuse, neglect and abandonment,

• Access to education and vocational training,

• Various developmental activities,

• Empowerment of biological families for eventual integration of children.

• The SOS village has for objectives to:

• Provide care solutions such as; alternative care, aftercare,

• Family strengthening,

• Advocacy and partnership for quality care.

• To work towards the above-mentioned goals, SOS Village Beau Bassin provides these amazing activities:

• Strengthen families in disadvantaged localities to prevent child neglect and abandonment,

• Aftercare for integrated children and young people,

• EARLY CHILDHOOD CARE, EDUCATION AND DEVELOPMENT,

• Vocational Training.
