parapli rouz

Parapli Rouz is an institution launched in Mauritius by a group of social workers who are concerned by the human rights violations suffered by sex workers in Mauritius. It was created in 2010 and since then it has managed to build a large family of more than 1000 women as beneficiaries.

The Parapli Rouz institution has for objective to:

• Strengthen community mobilization and improve the quality of life of sex workers.

• Promote access to justice for sex workers and defend their human rights.

• Promote access to health for sex workers and their partners through prevention, support and medical care.

• Strengthen the organizational capacity of the NGO to improve the quality of the services offered.

To work towards the above-mentioned goals, Parapli Rouz provides these amazing activities:

• Peer education,

• Prevention & awareness of sexually transmitted diseases,

• Empowerment program including: personal development & life skills, literacy, English, IT listening, channeling and support,

• Rights training,

• Advocacy for the respect of rights and the elimination of all types of violence.
