BAtisseur de paix

Bâtisseurs de Paix is a small institution established with the view of helping families in need precarious. After existing since 2001, it is now in the process of becoming a Montessori school, with the valuable help of the Maanaya Association based in France. It has managed to build a family of 12 staff members and 70 beneficiaries ranging from babies of 3 months old to adolescents of 17 years, within whom, 20 children are in nursery, 40 children in pre-primary, 10 young in literacy center (alphabétisation) and 10-12 women.

It works in affiliation with the National Corporate Social Responsibility Foundation (NCSRF). Bâtisseurs de Paix has for objectives to:

• Offer a clean, safe and caring environment with comprehensive care to children from precarious families,

• Offer personal and educational development (with personalized support allowing each child to go on their own pace) with the implementation of Montessori pedagogy,

• Welcoming and listening to families,

• Make sure the children have a healthy and balanced meal each day,

• Reduce the risk of juvenile delinquency caused by children and adolescents wandering the streets,

• Be self-dependent, responsible and to respect themselves at an early age,

• Make women independent by proving reading, writing and counting lessons, and,

• Participate in the economic and social life of the village by creating jobs and allowing women to go to work.

The amazing activities carried out by Bâtisseurs de Paix are:

• The Lapi-Lapon crèche, for babies and children from 3months to 3 years old (capacity for 20 children),

• Perlin Pinpin nursery school for children of 3 to 5 years, having a capacity of accommodating 40 children,

• La Providence literacy center for young people who have failed or have dropped out of school,

• Welcoming women wishing to take literacy courses or other activities.

• Healthy and balanced meals for the children of the crèche and the students of La Providence.

• Continuous training for the school's teaching staff.
