91 Wings Mission
91 Wings is an outreach and service initiative and a DBA of the Matt Talbot Group W-91, inspired by the transformative power of recovery and spiritual connection. Our mission is to extend the spirit of our retreats into the broader community through spiritually grounded service and outreach. This may include organizing or supporting additional retreats for outside groups, offering retreat planning and facilitation services, and conducting charitable fundraising to benefit individuals or causes aligned with our core values of healing, humility, hope, recovery, spiritual growth, and community support.
91 Wings Services Offered
LEADERSHIP SERVICES:
Together the 91 Wings team, offer an event leadership experience that is personalized, purposeful, and spiritually grounded in the spirit of the Matt Talbot retreat movement. For weekend retreats, leadership typically includes the direction and facilitation of approximately four to five conferences: one on Friday evening, two to three on Saturday, and one on Sunday, helping to provide a gentle rhythm of reflection and theme throughout the weekend. Brief one-on-one conversations may be offered as an optional part of the retreat. These are not therapy sessions, but rather an opportunity for quiet listening, reflection, and personal connection as each retreatant continues their own spiritual journey. Our leaders have decades of experience working with individuals in recovery, and are also credentialed with certifications including a certified spiritual director and a licensed clinical social worker. They bring deep experience in spiritually grounded, recovery-informed retreat traditions and offers talks and facilitation that invite reflection, presence, and connection.
PROGRAMMING SERVICES:
As an additional option, we work collaboratively with each group to create programming that aligns with its mission, values, and specific needs. While we often draw from 12-step–informed principles and the Matt Talbot retreat experience, we remain flexible and responsive to what best serves the group. Please see the "Program" tab (next page) for more details of a typical program we would help put together for your group. Programming support may include:
o Developing an event or retreat theme
o Creating custom programs and schedules
o Designing handouts, retreat packets, or workshop materials
o Supporting the overall flow and execution of the event
o Integrating creative arts-based practices to support spiritual reflection and connection
REGISTRATION SERVICES:
91 Wings uses RegFox software for event registration and is able to offer the option of managing all registration-related aspects of an event. This may include designing the registration page, managing registrations, and communicating with attendees as needed. Credit card processing and RegFox platform fees are passed directly to attendees.
91 Wings Stipend Guidance
We offer retreat leadership as a service grounded in the spirit of mutual support, shared responsibility, and sustainable service. Preparing and facilitating a retreat requires significant time, prayer, planning, and presence. In keeping with the principles of self-support and stewardship reflected in AA Tradition Seven and Concept XI of the Concepts for World Service, we encourage groups to offer fair compensation that honors this work. While the Matt Talbot movement is not AA, we strive to align with these principles to support healthy, autonomous, and spiritually grounded service for all.
We do not set a fixed fee. Instead, we ask groups to thoughtfully consider the time, preparation, and care involved in creating a meaningful retreat experience and to provide a stipend that reflects their ability to support this service responsibly.
At the same time, we recognize that many groups are newly formed or operating with limited funds- we were new once, too. We are willing to work with emerging groups to ensure that cost is not a barrier to receiving support. Even in these cases, we encourage offering at least a nominal stipend as an expression of shared responsibility and commitment to self-support.
