English Teacher at Sequoia High School
Matthew Wohl is an English teacher and academic leader for young students who is currently teaching at Sequoia High School in Redwood City CA. Matthew is a reliable, diligent, and collaborative worker with experience in dynamic teaching environments, curriculum building, and administrative duties.
"There is no better investment than in young people. I am honored to lead students to become better readers, writers, empathizers, and leaders in their own right. I consider myself a 'warm demander' who is genuinely interested and engaged with students while having very high expectations for them. As someone who has worked with children with severe special needs and over nine years of experience working in public schools, I know the importance of understanding any and all of the individual challenges my students face and carefully and purposefully use collaborative teamwork and a variety of resources to provide opportunities for growth and goal achievement.
In my spare time, I like to watch baseball, read modern American novels, watch foreign films with friends, visit City Lights Bookstore, bike, and play upright bass in my band named Chives. I also enjoy my coffee black as midnight on a moonless night."
