Beliefs
My foremost belief is that children should be able to play, have fun, and be engaged while they are at school. Early childhood care should be an environment for learning, but also be a place where children are free to explore and experience as they choose, and should not have needless restrictions on them. At a young age, children learn best by experience, interactions, and by doing what they enjoy, so as a caregiver, it is my job to be able to provide this kind of open environment, while also ensuring the safety of all children at the center. There should be many opportunities for children to learn about the natural world and environment presented in the activities and object presented to them in the classroom environment for children to be stimulated and grow to their fullest potential.
My belief is that school should be a place where children feel at home, and parents and other caregivers also feel welcome. Each child and caregiver should feel happy about school, and be able to feel comfortable going there. School itself should be a place children smile and are excited about. Parents and caregivers should also feel comfortable with their children's school, and be able to interact positively with teachers and other workers they might see at childcare facilities. Children should also be able to interact with their peers confidently and politely, and not need to worry about social pressure from other sources.
My belief is that curriculum for children should be appropriate, and also attempt to push children to a higher level. Education for children should be something attainable, but also strive to be something that requires both children to put in effort, and teachers to guide and develop, for everyone involved to make the largest strides possible. Educational goals are one of the largest factors in early childhood, and should be one of the top things to think about when planning activities and resources in an early childhood background. Children should be given activities and education that enough to challenge them, and teachers goals should be to guide and educate so that children can strive in those activities and learn without getting frustrated or giving up.
