Remember, we use the OPTIC strategy when we look at visual sources (such as maps and cartoons) and artwork (such as paintings, drawings, photographs, sculptures).
We do NOT use the OPTIC strategy for written texts and sources (such as: books, poems, or news articles).
A prefix is a word or series of letters that are placed before another word or series of letters.
A suffix is placed after the stem of a word.
A root word does not have a prefix in front of the word of a suffix at the end of the word.
