My name is Matt Dolbec, I was 19 years old at the time of creating this portfolio for my freshman year visual design course. I am now  22 years old and a senior at Qunnipiac University with a major in Advertising and a minor in Marketing. I am originally from Quincy, Massachusetts, a city located about 20 minutes outside of Boston. 

I graduated from Boston College High School, a private, catholic, preparatory school in 2021. It is here, along with my parents background in business that I began to take an interest in advertising. I have always thought of myself as a creative person, and always enjoyed any types of art courses that I have taken so far in my academic career. I did very well in classes such as photography and painting in high school, So I was very much looking forward to be working in a visual design course. 

As an advertising major, I knew just how important visual design is to advertising and my path moving foward. While I was completely unfamiliar with every single program used in this course at the start of the semester, I am proud to say that I now have a profound undertstanding of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. I am thankful for this course as it served as a launchpad for my work with visual design, and will be instrumental in my journey for a career path moving forward.
