PUBLIC FEEDBACK

1) Three cheers for the Residential Tenancy Branch for not agreeing with the media that we should all feel sorry for and accommodate Matt Astifan and his noisy son who disturbed their neighbours for months. Despite confrontations with the neighbours, receiving multiple warnings over complaints from several different residents, causing some neighbours to move out, and even being offered a different unit in the building, Astifan refused to be considerate of others and find more suitable accommodation.

2)  Interesting how he felt his son was free to bang on the floors until late in the evening, but when the downstairs neighbour banged on the ceiling, he called the police. Sounds to me that this father is one of these “it’s all about me” people who can make living in multi-unit buildings very challenging and unpleasant. Perhaps Astifan should have taken the hint, showed some respect for others, and found a ground-floor unit to rent before pushing the point to an eviction.

3)  Other tenants have rights:   I have no sympathy for the father’s complaint about eviction over his son’s noise. The condo managers and residents who have had to endure their own sleepless nights when they have to get up early for work are also entitled to peaceful living.

4) We live in a wooden building in New Westminster, and we also would not tolerate this. It is not the child’s fault, but his father, who clearly lacks parenting skills and feels entitled to let his child run wild.

5) Unreal how entitled this guy is. No one cares you spent 6 months looking for this place. It has no bearing on this issue at all. Be respectful with noise levels to your neighbours. Playing in the hallway? You have got to be kidding me. Every unit on your floor is going to hear that. Sounds like the property manager is REALLY good by offering multiple solutions and he just turns them down. This idiot is playing the victim while being a nuisance to everyone around him. I hope he got evicted.

6) You can just tell what an entitled narcissist this guy is, trying SO HARD to paint himself as the victim in this situation.
