My family describes me as devoted, genuine, compassionate, intelligent, creative, and passionate. I have many interests and passions, including writing and producing music, serving others, and spending time with family.. I also love to read, cook, play games, and go horseback riding on occasion.
I was born in Plano, Texas in 1997. I was a lucky kid and had lots of people who wanted to hold and care for me from day one!
I am the youngest of five kids. I have two older sisters and two older brothers. All of them have families of their own, making me an uncle of 14 nieces and nephews, which is a pretty great gig!
I lived in lots of places around the North Dallas area of Texas, but spent most of my years growing up in Plano where I was born. My family loves the outdoors, and we spent lots of time hunting, camping, and fishing.
I have always had a passion and talent for music, and I have been performing since I was 8 years old. I love to sing, play guitar, and write new songs.
My Dad was an entrepreneur, so I worked many different kinds of jobs while growing up. I could usually be found by my dad's side doing one interesting task or another: chopping wood, delivering supplies, helping customers, or even selling Christmas trees.
When I was 15, I won 1st place in The McKinney Mash-Up competition for original solo performance!
I also have always valued education. I graduated High School early in 2014 and started my college career right away.
I earned my Associate's Degree in General Studies from Collin County Community College. I also earned my Bachelor's Degree in Applied Communication from UVU, along with a Certificate of Proficiency in Music Technology.
In the middle of my college journey, I took a break from school to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Denver, Colorado. It was a wonderful experience serving others.
One interesting fact: I absolutely love bears. One year for my birthday, Alyssa took me to feed baby bear cubs in Idaho! It was such a cool experience for me.
Another cool fact: I write and produce my own music! Sharing my music and my love for it is a passion of mine that I intend to continue throughout my life.
I also love to get creative in the kitchen! I grew up in a family that always cooked together, and I have carried on that tradition. And Alyssa enthusiastically enjoys eating everything I cook.
I don't get to go very often, but I absolutely love horseback riding. And though we don't currently have any pets, I love animals in general, particularly reptiles and big dogs.
I am less than a year away from earning my Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions. This is a goal I never thought I would achieve, and I am so grateful to have the education I do.
I am currently working as a mental health therapist at Summit Community Counseling, and I love what I do. I have a passion for serving others and helping people overcome the darkness in their lives and be happier.
