Dear members and friends of Matsuyama JALT,

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we must share the sad news of the passing of our great friend and colleague Kiyoshi Shioiri, Matsuyama JALT’s president. He had been hospitalized following a severe stroke on December 27 and passed away in the early hours of January 2.

Shioiri-sensei was one of the founding members of Matsuyama JALT and has served as president for more than 10 years. 

We are deeply sorry for the loss of this kind, thoughtful and just man who touched the lives of his many students and colleagues over the years. He will be deeply missed.
