Tire Dynamics

Tire model is one of the most significant components of vehicle noise, vibraiton, ride and durability simulation. A balance of calculation accuracy and computational efficiency is always desired in the modeling work. We investigate modeling and measument techniques to understand tire dynamic behavior. FSD lab conducts collaboration researches with tire manufactures, auto manufactures , and universities. 

Measurement

We develop measurement methods of three-dimensional displacement based image processing and downsampling technique. 

Material Characterization

Polymers are essental structural materials which are used as sealing, tire, damping materal and actuator. its mechanical propeties are influenced by its microstructure. Our research is going on understanding the relationship between its material characterization and its microsturcture by using recent measurement systems as dynamic X-ray CT.
