Tire model is one of the most significant components of vehicle noise, vibraiton, ride and durability simulation. A balance of calculation accuracy and computational efficiency is always desired in the modeling work. We investigate modeling and measument techniques to understand tire dynamic behavior. FSD lab conducts collaboration researches with tire manufactures, auto manufactures , and universities.Â
We develop measurement methods of three-dimensional displacement based image processing and downsampling technique. For displacement and position calculations, it is just as important to obtain a clear image as it is to track feature point accurately through image processing. We do a rearch of image processing method including lighting condition.
Polymers are essental structural materials which are used as sealing, tire, damping materal and actuator. its mechanical propeties are influenced by its microstructure. Our research is going on understanding the relationship between its material characterization and its microsturcture by using recent measurement systems as dynamic X-ray CT.
