Tutoring sessions are not just "homework help" (though we definitely can do that when needed!).
Tutoring sessions will be much more than that!
I ask that the student has their course outline and calendar available as well as any materials or books their teacher has given them for their course. This will help me to tailor our sessions to what is specifically covered in your course.
During a one-on-one session, the student will receive individualized learning opportunities. This will often include:
Homework review or assistance
Mini-Lesson of current skills
Activities and practice work to reinforce skills
Review of previous coursework
Preview of upcoming skills
Upcoming test and quiz preparation
Previous test and quiz review
Tips and techniques for studying for a math class
A small group session will include 2-4 students who are taking the same course at the same school (not necessarily the same teacher). Small groups are created by the students themselves - most students join with a group of friends or classmates.
During a small group session, students will receive a unique opportunity for valuable discussion and learning with their peers. A typical session would include:
