HISTORY OF THE DEPARTMENT

Established in 1969. First Science Hons Department among the Evening Colleges in West Bengal .

It was a team work under the proper guidance of Prof. P. R. Ghosh. The other members of the team were Prof. S . Das, Prof. P . K . Chaudhuri ( left the college in 1975 to join the Department of Applied Mathematics, C.U.), Prof. S. Chatterjee, Prof. S. Sarkar and Prof. S.C. Sarkar .

First Evening college to start Science Honours (initially) for the working students.

NBHM selected 4 colleges in WB for special lecture (series). We were one of them.
