KES offers highly qualified instruction led by a master’s-level educator, experienced tutor, and interventionist. Our teaching approach is professional, engaging, and rooted in proven educational practice.

KES utilizes the RightStart Mathematics curriculum as a core instructional tool. RightStart is a thorough, multisensory, spiral-based program that supports deep conceptual understanding. This makes it an excellent resource for accelerated learners as well as students who learn differently, including those with dyslexia or ADHD. RightStart has received numerous accolades, including the “Best Homeschool Products & Curriculum of 2024–25” award.

Mrs. York is the lead teacher and educational director of KES. A Knoxville native, MA Level Education Graduate, experienced and professional teacher, she has successfully founded and led a homeschool co-op, developed original curriculum, and brings years of experience from many different settings:  public school classroom, homeschooling, homeschool classroom, group tutoring, individual tutoring, and leading specialized learning camps and workshops.

While Mrs. York is the backbone of KES, its educational roots are inspired by the Montessori philosophy—emphasizing self-guided, self-correcting, skill-isolated learning within a grace-filled environment. In addition, KES instruction is informed by her experience and training with the official (Gold standard Dyslexia intervention training) Orton-Gillingham method!
