What to Expect

Registration

The first time you come to TBLG someone in the office will ask you about your goals, give you a registration form to fill out, and sign you up for the class or classes you want to take.

Assessment

When you first come to the math class you will solve some math questions to assess your current math skills. This will show what areas you already understand well, and will help us decide what areas would be useful to review or learn.

Learning Plan

After discussing your goals and what types of math you are most interested in learning, you and your instructor will put together a personalized learning plan just for you. This will guide the choices of math activities that will help you work toward your goals.

Self-paced Learning

In class you will work at your own pace. Your instructor will be there to teach new concepts, make sure you understand what you are learning, suggest easier ways to solve problems, and give you as much help as you need.

Milestones

When you have mastered a particular set of skills you will complete a "Milestone" to show your understanding. Then we will decide on your next steps, and add those to your learning plan.
