Below I have an overview of what our course will look like.
This semester you will be actively engaged in activities and working on concepts of Calculus with your classmates. Our class time will involve learning new ideas, practicing those ideas in groups, and applying them with examples. I will be guiding these activities and discussions but will not always be lecturing.
Our class will be remote and on Zoom until Feb 28th. We will then resume the planned structure below.
Our class will be run as a hybrid of in-person and Zoom lectures. On Mondays, we will meet in person in the classroom Central Complex (CNTL) 247. If you have not been on campus, here is a campus map. Central Complex is building numbers 10 and 11 on the map.
On Wednesdays, we will meet on Zoom. Zoom Classroom. I do not require your cameras to be on in Zoom, but you are required to have access to audio over Zoom.
We will be using a free, online, textbook: Calculus Volume 3 - OpenStax. You can download the PDF of the textbook here.
Many of your assignments and in-class activities will be done in groups. Please be prepared to participate in our class.
Homework will usually be due on Mondays covering the previous week's topics. When we are remote, homework will be turned in on Canvas and when we return in person, homework will be turned in physically.
